Oat COM Skin Trial 3

Trial Overview

This in-vivo skin trial evaluated  Oat® COM’s skin repair properties.

KEY POINTS
  • Subjects: 15 healthy adults
  • Duration: 10 days
  • Methodology: Two areas on the volar forearms were pre-irritated with a 0.5% Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate solution. One area was covered with a patch coated with 0.6% Oat® COM, while the other served as an uncoated control.
  • Assessment: Test sites were assessed on Day 0, after 24 hours, and on Day 5, with the rate of recovery compared.

Key Findings

Combined Tewameter and Corneometer results demonstrated that Oat® COM significantly supported an increased rate of skin repair.

The data showed a statistically significant improvement in recovery compared to the control site on Day 5 for assessments of skin hydration, skin cracking, and visual erythema. The visual erythema scores were particularly impressive.
